Position Overview:
This position has the following responsibilities: Support enterprise Network Infrastructure and client hardware and software in a Microsoft environment. Maintain high availability of user and server systems. Participate as a member of the Corporate Network Technologies Team.

Position Requirements:

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Broad-based understanding of the organization’s business and information needs
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft server products and network architectures
  • Detailed understanding of Personal Computer Architecture and configuration
  • Analytical skills and the ability to understand the logic reasoning used to troubleshoot
  • Planning and organization skills to work on multiple projects and meet user demands
  • Proven success in meeting or exceeding customer’s need
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively partner with all internal function areas and with external customers
  • Technical certifications such as Microsoft’s MCSE, or Cisco certifications are desirable
  • B.S. degree in Computer Science

Principal Accountabilities

  • Provides technical support and troubleshooting to solve user PC and network related issues, problems, and requests.
  • Reacts to and resolves assigned Helpdesk calls within a reasonable period, to include completing procedure and resolution documentation pertaining to the call.
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of Network strategies that support the corporate strategic plan and provide for all business units.
  • Is available at all times (24/7) to provide technical expertise and/or support to solve critical problems that arise within his/her area of responsibility.
  • Is prepared and available to travel amongst Accuride locations up to 25% of the time to provide support and services when and where needed.
  • Monitors progress and insures on-time delivery of all Networking Systems.
  • Searches for and establish methods to eliminate recurrent problems and reduce required support time.
  • Participates in and on occasion leads assigned Network Technology projects in a team environment, integrating and utilizing the skills, expertise, and knowledge of internal and external resources.
  • Provides user training as required.
  • Monitors system performance.
  • Secures systems by developing system access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; establishing and testing disaster recovery policies and procedures; completing back-ups; maintaining documentation.
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Installs software, hardware and basic network infrastructure wiring and devices.
  • Participates in department projects in a team environment.
  • Assists with the development of short and long-term plans for information capability including architecture, hardware, software, human resources, and organization for all business locations.
  • Based experience and customer contact, assists in identifying current and future information needs and opportunities.
  • Strives for implementations that are as transparent as possible, and minimize inconvenience to customers.
  • Conducts proper research and initiates authorized purchases for the department.
  • Assists with ensuring adherence to budgets, departmental and organizational policies.
  • Strives to build technical knowledge through attendance at training, experience, assisting others, self-study, and certification.
  • Maintains up-to-date job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
