Livonia, MI – March 4th, 2024 – Accuride Corporation – a leading supplier of components to the global commercial vehicle industry – today announced Accuride’s Gunite-branded 3922X cast iron brake drum will now be produced in Accuride’s Rockford, IL Gunite foundry.
Based on customer demand for a competitive domestically made brake drum, Gunite foundry has updated their tooling to produce the drum for the North American market. The drum, with part number 3922XUSA, is a 105 lb. cast-iron drum with an optimized design for aftermarket applications.
“Customers have been asking us for an American made version of the 3922X for a few years, and we feel that the time was right to bring it back to Rockford,” says Jayne Orr, Accuride’s Senior Vice President for North American Sales.
The announcement was made to coincide with the Technology & Maintenance Council’s Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition, starting March 4th, 2024, in New Orleans, LA, where Accuride will be at booth number 3029.
